‘Tis the season: A Chanukah Party, a Slumber Party, and Psychology Today

So tomorrow night, TechBoo and I get to celebrate another first together: Our first Chanukah party. What to bring? I’m leaning towards a bottle of wine and the jelly doughnuts (which, coincidentally, will come from the new kosher Dunkin’ Donuts that recently opened up nearby).
Saturday night, the celebrating continues with a birthday slumber party for Mini-Me at El Ex’s house. He and his wife are hosting; TechBoo and I are assisting. Once the actual sleepover portion of the party starts, we’ll be whisking BabyGirl back to our house for some special you-get-the-grown-ups-all-to-yourself time. This movie, this movie, and popcorn? Get like us.
Of course amidst all the festivities, deadlines loom. Still reading and editing a script for my brother from another mother; so glad he hasn’t disowned me at this point for taking so long. I’m honored to be trusted with his “baby”. Plus a review of this book for Bitch. And I’ve been invited to guest-blog about adoption and the holidays for Psychology Today online. A little about Jesus, a little about Moses…it’s still coming together in my head. I will not, however, be writing about Kwanzaa. I already feel like I’m perpetrating a fraud, making Kwanzaa presentations in BabyGirl’s class, both years of preschool and again this year in kindergarten, and in Mini-Me’s 3rd grade class two years ago–while only ever actually celebrating Kwanzaa at home once.
I might make ginger beer, though.
Cheers!

Ok, you had me Google the Kirikou movies and I am intrigued…how was it? I want to get them for the little people, but need to know if they are well done. Thanks.

We got home later than expected and only ended up watching “Azur and Asmar: The Princes’ Quest”. According to TechBoo and BabyGirl, it’s a great movie. Me? I fell asleep, lol. But the parts I saw were excellent!
