Techboo and I get asked all the time, “How do you do it?”–”it” being maintain a long-distance relationship which will soon become a long-distance marriage.* Here’s one answer to that question:

Tip #287: Making Long-Distance Love Work – Text Game Proper

Text your lady-love a picture of some brand-new lingerie and her favorite black patent leather stilettos with the ankle straps.   Caption it: “After Thanksgiving, after drinks…”

This will cause your lady-love to leave for the airport 4 hours before her scheduled flight on the busiest travel day of the year.  She will be parked in the extended lot exactly 29 minutes later, arriving less than 5 minutes later than it normally takes.  She will then sip blackberry mojitos in the TGIFridays in Terminal A and daydream about you, her, and those high, high heels.

*He’s got shared custody; I’ve got shared custody.  Neither one of us wants to parent from a distance.  So there you have it.
