Hot Yoga!

I’m usually late when it comes to trends related to fitness and technology, so maybe hot yoga isn’t new to you, but it is to me. New and FABULOUS!
I went to a 6:30 AM (!!!!) class this morning with my friend Staycee. I worked out yesterday with “Raoul”, so I was a bit sore at the outset. Still, the class is wonderful and sweaty and challenging, and now afterwards, I feel great. According to Wiki, hot yoga (aka “Bikram yoga” and “fire yoga”) is practiced at a room temperature of 105 degrees Fahrenheit, for 90 minutes. So maybe mine was more of “warm yoga”–60 minutes at 90 degrees. We moved fairly rapidly through the poses, but without sacrificing good form and steady breathing.
This just in! The lovely Gail Konop Baker tells me via Facebook that what I took was a version of hot yoga called “flow”, as opposed to Bikram. Thanks, Gail!
So now I’m ready to jump into my day: a kid with a suspected double yeast ear infection, with some writing interspersed.
